On the second anniversary of the Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan, a special memorial event was held at the Yuanda Pavilion in the Puxi Park of the World Expo.

At the meeting, employees of Yuanda Low Carbon Group and representatives from the earthquake stricken areas stood in silence and deeply mourned for the dead compatriots; The staff of Yuanda Museum reflect on the "5.12" earthquake through music, dance, poetry recitation, and other ways, while expressing their hope and confidence to overcome natural disasters such as earthquakes with the power of scientific and technological innovation.

Subsequently, the participants collectively visited the Grand Hall of the World Expo Site, which is famous for its "scientific and technological earthquake resistance". During the visit, they personally experienced the realistic simulations of the Wenchuan earthquake and Yushu in Qinghai, and deeply felt the tremendous threat and power of high intensity earthquakes, as well as the tremendous earthquake resistance capacity of this exhibition hall.

It is understood that after the completion of the design and development of the Grand Museum, in the evaluation conducted by the Chinese Academy of Building Sciences, it not only carried 40 simulated earthquakes in one day using a 1:4 super high scale building model that was quite close to the actual building itself, but also passed the seismic test with a intensity of up to 9 degrees. Previously, the highest seismic fortification standard in any part of the world had not exceeded 8 degrees. Earthquake experts say the museum is now the world's strongest and most earthquake resistant house.

Experts said that the reason why the Grand Hall can resist high intensity and high intensity earthquakes is that the building has three seismic magic weapons, namely, "slant support, lightweight and factory". The museum does not have ordinary bricks and tiles, and its ceiling and upper floor are integrated into a unified specification of 11.9 meters in length, 3.9 meters in width, and 0.35 meters in thickness. Prefabrication is completed in the factory assembly line. Because of this, after all the materials entered the Expo Park, they created a miracle that the construction of a small high-rise exhibition hall would be completed within one day. They combined the characteristics of "9 degree earthquake resistance, 6 times material saving, 5 times energy saving, 1% construction waste, and 100% factory manufacturing", becoming a sustainable building with strong scientific and technological support.

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the May 12 Wenchuan earthquake, Yuanda Pavilion expressed its hope to donate this "strongest and most earthquake resistant" house in the world to Wenchuan in the future.
