Exhibition hall to be completed in one day

In the park, the reserved area of Yuanda Pavilion is adjacent to the aviation pavilion, while other enterprise pavilions have already been completed, and some have entered the internal decoration stage. But the Grand Hall that appears in front of us now is only an empty space. There is no sign of construction, and only container trucks loaded with components are parked beside the road. There are no construction materials such as cement and sand on the venue of the exhibition hall. All this makes it difficult for us to imagine that in a single day, Yuanda Hall can rise from the ground and be located on the bank of the Pujiang River.

At 7 am, in rainy and rainy weather, the installation of the first component began on the reserved space of Yuanda Hall. Lu Hu, Vice President of Changsha Yuanda Air Conditioning Co., Ltd. and Director of the Expo Office, told the author that in addition to the underground foundation piles, the Yuanda Pavilion will complete the installation of components including steel structures, walls, air conditioning system interfaces, water supply and drainage, and windows within one day. It is expected that around 10pm, a corporate pavilion with walls and windows will appear in the park, highlighting the architectural concept of low-carbon and energy-saving.

Yuanda Pavilion for Environmental Protection and Energy Conservation

Around 8 am, the construction site of Yuanda Pavilion was already bustling with people and a busy scene. Fifteen container trucks waited by number, while three cranes took turns to lift steel structural components from the trucks and install them in an orderly manner. According to on-site timing, the time from lifting to installation of a component is 20 to 30 minutes.

According to Land Rover, these components were manufactured in the factory two months ago, and today they are only "assembled" on site. The exhibition hall is 100% factory manufactured, which on the one hand saves a lot of manpower and time consumed by the project, while achieving zero waste on the installation site. Traditional buildings generate about 200 kilograms of garbage per square meter, and a 50000 square meter building emits about 10000 tons of garbage.

When the media questioned the safety issues of the Grand Museum, Land Rover explained that the Grand Museum had passed the national seismic 9 degree test and reached the highest level in the world. In terms of architectural characteristics, Tang Ying, the Secretary General of the Grand Expo Project, said that the Grand Pavilion will save six times the raw materials and five times the energy compared to other similar buildings. Moreover, the construction of the exhibition hall has neither "civil engineering" nor "decoration", vividly reflecting the concept of environmental protection and energy conservation.

Yuanda Pavilion with Low Carbon Operation

Fu Lixin, the project director of Yuanda Hall, told the author that as a sustainable building, the walls and roofs of the exhibition hall are insulated with 170mm polymeric foam materials; The windows adopt 3-layer glass plastic frame windows, and are equipped with automatic sunshade outside the window and automatic heat insulation inside the window; Heat recovery fresh air fans are used for ventilation, and the cold (hot) amount of exhaust air is used to cool (warm) the fresh air. The "zero tolerance" thermal insulation measures for walls, windows, and ventilation ensure that the building will not be too cold in winter even if it is not heated. In summer, the cooling only aims at the heating of the human body, lighting, and electrical appliances, and the energy consumption is only about 20% of that of traditional buildings.

The exhibition hall is also a "breathing" ultra clean building. The indoor ventilation is good, with three thorough air changes per hour, twice as much as in a five-star hotel. In particular, due to the use of fresh air fans with electrostatic precipitators, 99.9% of dust and bacteria will be filtered out when outdoor air enters the room through the machine.

The main body of Yuanda Pavilion is a "L" shaped building and a pyramid shaped building. The "L" shaped building has a maximum of 8 floors and a second floor on the other side. Some areas are specifically set up for VIPs, and some are open to the public. The exhibition hall will display organic food, clean water, clean air, and other content, promoting a low-carbon and environmentally friendly lifestyle.

At 10 pm, the Shanghai World Expo site witnessed an architectural miracle - the Grand Hall rose from the ground and was completed in one day.
